Toilets can be really messy when not taken cared of. Toilets are usually something that almost never seems to be a problem, but believe it or not, once problems occur in for a toilet, it can be really difficult to fix, and possibly could lead to replacements of the whole fixture in worst case scenarios. Some general toilet problems to watch out for are as follows:

The most common problem to encounter with toilets are internal leaks. Leaks when when from the toilet tank seeps into the toilet bowl. Internal toilet leaks can be visually detected in most cases and easy to fix too. Usually the problems can be found with the flapper for the drain if it is old and worn out. A rubber flapper should sit flat against the drain to the tank, old flappers may become disfigured over time and water will leak through the opening into the toilet bowl. To detect it, you just put food colouring into the tank and see if the coloured water seeps to the toilet bowl even if not being used. If you see coloured water in the toilet bowl, than you have a leak present.

Another problem is broken flush. This is more difficult to address because normally it would require replacement parts, usually the chain that connects the flush handle to the flapper inside. If you are not capable of handling these tasks, it is better to call a local licensed plumber to do this because one not experience may break parts if not careful. It will be a waste of time and money in any case to brake parts and be forced to buy a new toilet.

Another common problem is weak flush or water does not go down fast enough. This could be a sign that there is something blocking the toilet or toilet drain, and it can be from a whole lot of factors. There can be tissues or sanitary napkins, something solid that fell down the toilet, and in some cases, even toys from children which they flush to see where it will go. This is usually addressed with toilet plungers or plumbing auger snakes, and many other devices that can unclog the drain pipes below. However, if after some effort and you still cannot get the water to flow freely when draining, it is about time to call in the licensed plumbers because they have some devices and tricks up their sleeves that may fix the problem. Professionals use a lot of methods to unclog toilets. In worst case scenarios, if the blockage in the toilet cannot be cleared or removed, a new toilet may need to be purchased.

Broken toilets and water pipes leaking below the toilet is a serious matter and would require the help of professionals. Any type of toilet leaking outside of the base should not be handled by an unlicensed person. If you have a toilet leaking water outside of the toilet, make sure you turn off the cold water supply valve for the toilet, so there will be no water flushing in the toilet and no flooding the bathroom floor in any case.  If the toilet shut off valve does not work, the next option may be to turn off the main cold water supply to the home. Then call in your local plumbers and they will be able to replace the toilet or even the pipes and valve as needed. Don’t try to do this on your own as it could lead to more problems and costly repairs if not done right. are Mississauga plumbing experts in the field of toilet repairs and toilet replacements.  If you've been looking for a plumber in Mississauga for toilet repairs, call LicensedPlumbers.CA!
